Bio
Vic Lucas is an Afrobeat artist whose story spans continents, heartbreaks, and awakenings. Born in Nigeria, raised in South Africa, and later moving to the U.S. on a soccer scholarship, his path to music was anything but ordinary. After a career-ending injury cut short his athletic dreams, Vic turned his frustration into song, writing On My Knees and uploading it to YouTube. When a major blog picked it up, his gift was affirmed for the first time — sparking a new journey.
Living alone in Mississippi, Vic poured his doubts and faith into his first official single, Enough. With no label, budget, or promotion, the track unexpectedly landed on the Billboard charts, proof that his music resonated far beyond his circumstances. Encouraged by mentors, he later relocated to Nashville, where he found himself in rooms with music executives and industry veterans. Yet even as opportunities grew, so did inner doubts, eventually leading him to step away.
It was heartbreak that brought Vic back to God, and through that season of pain, he rediscovered his true purpose. Leaning into his African roots, he found Afrobeat to be the perfect vessel for his voice — music that carried both the joy of rhythm and the vulnerability of faith. His sound now fuses Afrobeat, gospel soul, and R&B, creating songs that are global and danceable yet deeply spiritual, bridging the gap between mainstream Afrobeat and the faith that anchors his life.
With millions of streams, a Billboard-charting single, and standout tracks like Holy Ghost, Call on Me, and I Need You, Vic is preparing to release his debut album, The Journey. More than music, his vision includes faith-rooted merchandise, children’s books through his “Bible Baybee” brand, and a platform to uplift spiritual Afrobeat voices worldwide. For Vic Lucas, every beat is gratitude — to God, to his mother, and to the calling that turned heartbreak into healing.
